Hard to believe, but basketball season has started for the kids!

Little Lady had her first practice on Tuesday and Little Man had his
first practice tonight.

He will be busy since there are only 6 boys on his team this year!

Finally, a fun pack meeting.

The boys got to dress up in their Halloween costumes.  Here my little Jango
got to play in a bounce house.

After a hayride, the boys got to pick a pumpkin.

Here the den leaders are teaching about fire safety.

One of the guys works at a fire station, so we had a fire engine at
the meeting!  The younger boys especially enjoyed it.

I came in at midnight to work.

We tested out house UPS and backup power generator.  We made sure
all of our vital systems would survive a power hit.

This is the backup power generator.  This hoss is almost as big as a semi trailer
and friggin’ loud when powered.

I went to this really good new restaurant called Fireman’s Subs.

In addition to the fireman decor, it had this uber soda machine.

There is a touch screen on the front that has your standard drinks,
but then it has secondary choices.

There are 8 different kinds of flavored Dasani water and things
like raspberry Sprite.

We carry light sabers at work.

Actually, it is a toner cartridge that just looks like a light saber.

We are getting reading to hike back to our cars.

It was a fun weekend.  I spent most of my time listening to the other
guys tell Scouting, camping, hiking, outdoor stories.  Each person was
trying to out-do the previous story.

Here, I was driving to my adult Boy Scout leader Backpack Awareness training.

The fog was so bad, you could not see the sun or Lake Monroe on either side
of the road!

I wanted to try this cool climbing tower.

We were a few feet from beautiful Lake Monroe.

This is a hammock tent.  You crawl up into the hammock with your
sleeping bag.  The guy said it was comfortable, but he was cold.

My tent in the blue one on the right.

Here we are heating up dinner on a Pocket Rocket
backpack stove.

The kids created an indoor version of “baseball”.
(only kinda funny because it was nice outside)

Just as we feared… the plummer had to pull the water heater to fix
our main water shutoff valve.

The plummer extended everything out and changed it to a 1/4 turn valve.
(he also added a pressure reducing valve)

Little Lady gets some cuddle time with Mom.

Here is the troublemaker….

This is our main water shutoff valve.  It was stripped
last year.  We finally decided to fix it.

The problem is… that the water heater is to the left.
