Every year, this is a bitter sweet picture.  It is our last photo before
we leave.  We miss everyone already.

Aunt J thought we were climbing Mt. Beacon.  It turns out we took a path
on a hill near Mt. Beacon.  Still… it was a fun hike, and a beautiful view.

Manly man….

june-25c.jpg

I used the cool tripod Mom gave me to take this picture by
the waterfall.

june-25d.jpg

Love this picture.

To accomodate all of the parents, they held graduation at Dutchess
County Stadium (where we saw the ball game).

Here, she is accepting her diploma.

she looks like:  “I graduated… now what”

and the hats fly!

She’s a graduate!

Niece C wanted a hibachi grill for her graduation dinner.  Here the chef
made a “volcano” with onions.

We are waiting for the morning train into the city.
(Aunt J took an EARLY train to see the taping of Project Runway)

june-24b.jpg

We all like the aquatic section.

Soon after, we found Aunt J looking at a cross section of a huge
tree.  (it figures we would find her looking at wood)

Barnum Brown found most of the dinosaurs in this
exhibit.

Dumb, dumb… give me some gum, gum.

Mom and Little Man are under the belly of this big fella.

We found a Robert Love… Love sculpture in the streets
of Manhattan.

Train ride home!

Soon after this photo, Little Lady zonked out.

june-23a.jpg

It was Niece C’s prom night!  She looked beautiful!

Mom “went for a hike” and we took a nap.

Mom hiked up and down Mount Beacon IN AN HOUR!

I love her, she rocks… but that is a crazy pace to
climb that mountain.

(she forgot to bring a watch or cell phone and realized it
was getting late.  Mom FLEW down the mountain)

june-23b.jpg

We went to a Hudson Valley Renegades game (Single A baseball,
Tampa Bay Rays affiliate)

The opposing team, the Brooklyn Cyclones, was coached by Frank Viola (sp?)
a former Mets pitcher. (he is signing an autograph)

june-23c.jpg

Uncle D got great seats!  Thanks!

june-23d.jpg

It ended up being a beautiful night for baseball and best of all, the
home team won!

June 22, 2011 – The first time the kids ever saw the Ocean

Tuesday, June 28th, 2011

june-22a.jpg

This was the first time the kids saw the ocean.

(they have been on a sound in  Connecticut)

It was a perfect day for me, overcast and cool.

I found out about this beach from a New York native.
(Robert Moses State Park on Fire Island)

While it took longer to drive there, it was worth it.  It was a clean
beach with plenty of lifeguards.

june-22b.jpg

We knew Little Lady would like the beach, but Little Man also had
a blast.

june-22c.jpg

The water was COLD!

june-22d.jpg

june-22e.jpg

The kids loved the waves.

At first, they would run away.  Then they would try to withstand
the waves as they came.  Little Man got “tackled” by the waves 35 times.

june-22f.jpg

Just a few of the shells we collected.  (we had a whole bucket by
the end of the day)

june-22g.jpg

Mom buried a mermaid!

june-22h.jpg

Which is more white, the waves or my belly?

(there is over 5 miles of seashore at Robert Moses)

june-22i.jpg

This lighthouse was actually part of a national park
(Robert Moses was a New York State Park)

By the time we left, fog rolled in and we could not see the lighthouse at all!

june-22j.jpg

I love this photo of the handsome man on the beach.

june-22k.jpg

Mom and Little Man say goodbye to the ocean.

june-21a.jpg

Mom gave me this cool tripod that you can wrap around things.

Currently, the camera is hanging on a giant rock.

The beautiful Hudson is in the background.

june-21b.jpg

Aunt J took this photo for us… possible preview of our Christmas photo.

june-21c.jpg

This is Bear Mountain Bridge which crosses the Hudson.
(see next photo)

june-21d.jpg

Cool fun fact.

june-21e.jpg

It wouldn’t be Bear Mountain without bears!

We didn’t find them until it was feeding time!

june-21f.jpg

These birds hung out in the bear cage… then suddenly they all pointed the
same direction and spread their wings.  It was strange…

I GOT TICKETS TO SEE THE LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN!

I signed up for tickets months ago and forgot about it… but they called last week
and said we got tickets!

I took Aunt J, Uncle D and his oldest daughter.

Mom didn’t want to go, which, unfortunately worked out because Little Lady
had a fever!

june-20b.jpg

While waiting for Letterman to start, we wondered down
to Times Square.

The show was great, Dave was funny.  I can mark it off
my bucket list.

We showed up at 3:30pm to pre-register, we got a drink and went back at 4:45pm.

They spent 40 minutes telling us how to clap. (it makes the show better with lively crowd)

The show started about 6pm and we were done about 7pm.

june-20c.jpg

You see some pretty strange things in New York…

But Ron Artest comedy tour?  That’s not funny.

Fun day at home!

june-19.jpg

Even though it was Father’s Day, Uncle D made us a yummy breakfast.

Later, he cut foul ball lines in his grass and we played wiffle ball.

Uncle D’s girls cooked a wonderful dinner for us.  This is the afterglow
after the meal.

june-18.jpg

Thanks to advanced warp technology (and Aunt J driving
the first half of the trip) we made it to New York in record
time.

We arrived with plenty of daylight.

This is Uncle D and Aunt L’s stained glass on the front door.

Bunny Airlines had a special plane for a vacation.

Aunt J went with us, so she rented a mini van.  (we paid for the gas)

It was a sweet ride.  We all had plenty of room and it was easy to drive.
Best of all, it had Sirius satellite radio.  Between the radio and the iTouch/iPad/iPhone,
we did not use the DVD player we brought.
