Little Lady and I went around town and collected some
of her cookie money.

She loves her new hat Grandma and Grandpa got her.

Here, the kids are warming up before their ice skating lesson.

As you can see,  there are a lot of people on the ice.

Little Man plays for a church league, so halfway during practice, they
stop and talk about the Bible.

FYI: the cafe in the background makes great hot chocolate

Grandma and Grandpa took us out to dinner!  Thanks!

Here the kids are saying goodbye before they head home.
(Grandpa gave Little Man some new bunny ears!)

Grandma and Grandpa came up to see the kids and Little Man’s
basketball game.

They got treated to a barn burner.

Little Man’s game went into overtime and his team won!

February 11 Pinewood Derby!

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

This is our pinewood derby track.  I really like it because it is wood.

Every time Little Man’s car was on the track, our Pack Master announced,
“On track 3… Cut the Cheese”

Even though our cars did well, Little Man enjoyed being a mini celebrity.

The other boys (especially the younger ones) would say:
YOUR car is Cut the Cheese?  COOL!

This is Little Lady’s last heat.  (non-scout division)

This is the very instant that the cars crossed the line.  She got 1st and
2nd was so close!

Little Man got third place in his Den!

This is really good, because Jeff in his Den got 2nd place overall!

Little Lady got third place in the non-scout division!  She got
a trophy too!

This Star Wars landspeeder was in the non-scout division.

One more picture of this…

It was in the non-scout division.

The Dad who made this, works for the Target-Chip Ganasi Indycar team.

A while back, Target commissioned the team to create some pinewood derby
cars.  The Dad used it as a template.  They had left over stickers and used them
on this car.

The same group that paints the real cars painted this model.

We had 51 entries this year for the Pinewood Derby.

We weigh the cars in the day before and impound them.

Little Man’s car was too heavy, I had to shave off .2 ounces.
(my scale at work lies!)

Little Lady’s car was right on the money.

My car dragged!  I had to remove the weight on the
bottom of the car!  It is only 3.2 ounces, so it won’t win.

But my chances were not good anyway… see below…

A “scout” made this.  I believe the kid’s dad actually works for
an Indycar team.

It is even better looking in person.

Little Lady came home early from school.  She had a
bad headache.

As you can tell from the dancing to “Mary Poppins”,
she eventually felt better.

Happy Birthday Aunt J!

I took her out to the Broadripple Brew Pub.  Yum!
