Little Lady is covering first!

Do you really need batting gloves in a 1st grade coach pitch league?
(kid on red team)

Little Lady had a great hit this game.  It  went over the infield.  I was coaching
first base, and told her to go to second.

The kid who fielded the ball forgot to tag her, so she was safe!

Little Lady was playing hot box at the game tonight.

She hit well all night, but my favorite hit was a small blooper to first.
The first baseman grabbed it, but she beat him to the bag.  Great hussle.

The kids decided to perform a wedding ceremony.
(don’t all families do this on Wednesday night?)

The groom was exploring his hip hop roots…

This is Cumberland Falls, the Niagra of the midwest.  It is over 200 feet
wide and over 50 feet tall.

Cumberland Falls produces a Moonbow.  During a full moon, the mist
will produce a rainbow.

It is only one of two places in the world to see a Moonbow.
(the other place is Victoria Falls, in Africa)

This is a wider view from the next overlook.

Thanks to another family, Mom got in the picture too!

It was so hot there!  My umbrella had frogs on the top.  It may have
have attracted buzzards.  At one time, there were 5 big birds circling
overhead.

Little Man was practiced his floating in a pool at Monticello.  When he was
young, Mom had to give him a sticker just to get his face a little wet.

We went down to Fall Creek boat ramp on Lake Cumberland.

We looked for rocks and fossils.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY UNCLE D!

He is 29 and holding.  When I called, he was at
baseball game with the East Coast crew.

I hope you had a great day!

Both Little Lady and Little Man got an award on the last day of camp!
Little Lady’s was similar to “Most Spirited”.

Amber, the lady who runs the youth program, gushed for several minutes
about her.    The other day, Amber said, “I have never heard a 6-year-old
say the things she does.”

“She used the word ‘compromise’ correctly and in a proper context”

Little Man is showing off his receiving skills.  This was an end of week
presentation for the parents.

At the end of the school year, mom took a tadpole home.  It grew and lost
it’s tail.  It developed into a cute little frog.   Even though we will miss the
frog, it’s time to let it return to nature.

july-16e.jpg

Good luck little frog!  Off to the wild with you!

july-16f.jpg

Usually, the fully grown frogs jump away as soon as you get close
to the pond.

This frog stayed and even let me take a picture!

Maybe it approved us returning a frog to the wild!

Little Lady got up, in front of the whole crowd, and gave the prayer.

For a 6 year old, she totally nailed it.  She is so sweet!

We moved the bird feeder closer to the back of the house.

We call it “cat TV”.  Tinkerbell likes to watch birds
come and get food.
