Grandpa and Grandma came up for Grandparents Day
at the kids school.

Grandpa found this tree that had been cut down
by a beaver.

He cut it apart so that Mom could take it into school.

First soccer game!

Little Man ran like crazy after the ball.  He was up against a great team
loaded with great players.  So far, he has improved greatly over last year.

Little Lady (defending the goal) rocked the field!

She made three goals!  She is our little soccerlista!

That afternoon, Little Lady had TWO birthday parties
to attend.

One party had a rockstar theme.  Little Lady got a really
fashionable hat as a party favor.

Little Lady had candy and cake at both parties, so much,
she barely ate dinner.

That night, Little Lady slept in her sleeping bag in the living room.

In other news….

Little Man and I went camping with the Cub Scout troop
at Camp Ransburg next to Lake Monroe (near Bloomington).

We got there just in time to go fishing.
(didn’t catch anything, but had lots of fun)

Here is our campsite.

A Boy Scout group was camping next to us.  They invited our Cub Scouts
over for a campfire program.

(Little Man wasn’t sure if he would like it.  He said he would go for a
few minutes)

The Boy Scouts performed several songs and skits.
(we stayed for the whole program and Little Man even enjoyed it!)

Then…. they played capture the flag in the dark with flashlights!
(Little Man thought that was a blast)

It go really COLD overnight.  (near freezing!)
Little Man was a trooper.

Little Man struck a GQ pose during his soccer practice.

He is running around and doing great.  All of this basketball playing
has paid off for him.

Little Lady and I took a break from watching Little Man.

She is really good at dribbling.

Dad went bowling with the other Dads in the Boy Scout Den.

I practiced spinning the ball, but I still stink at it.

I barely broke 100, but had a blast anyway.

While picking up some pizza, I came across this well taken care of Beetle.

Both inside and outside were very nice with no visible rust.

I was ready to steal it, paint some stripes on it and call it Herbie
the Love Bug.

The Library has a program where kids can read to guide dogs.

Little Lady read, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish”.

april-12b.jpg

Little Man read to a bull mastif (sp?).  It was a gentle dog,
who was a big licker!

Grandma and Grandpa came up to celebrate Little Man
and Mom’s birthdays.

We bought the family a new, full sized, basketball
goal.  Dick’s Sporting Goods had a NICE one on sale,
$250 off!  (could not have afforded it otherwise)

Grandpa helped assemble the goal.  (I could not
have done it without him!)

The goal adjusts from 7.5 inches (seen here) to a full
10 feet.

Mom went to Lady’s Survivor, a special Girl Scouts’ leadership event
in Poland Indiana.

april-10b.jpg

There were three teams, each challenged with several tasks.  This
was the rope course down a ravine.

april-10c.jpg

Mom was the only lady to hit a full center bullseye!
(not seen here)

Here, each team had to undo the rope knot.  Mom said the oldest group
schooled everyone else.
