Grandpa and Grandma came up to visit!

Grandpa taught the kids how to play Black Jack.

Soon their beginners luck will wear off.

(See here:  Little Man had to queens and asked for a hit…
he got an ace!)

We need to work on probability and card counting….

Brickyard 400!

I got two tickets from the station and they provided
a bus ride to and from the track.

(the only way to go)

It was perfect weather… not too hot or cold.

Jimmie Johnson won the race.
(first driver to win the Brickyard 400 back to back)

Little Man is sporting our favorite rental…  Fanview.

Like most rental scanners, all of the driver frequencies
are already programmed.  The video screen sets this
one apart.

You can watch the network feed, or 7 in-car cameras.

In addition, you can see all of the current stats, from
standings to lap times to pit information.

 It is really cool.

(because the scanner is so cool, Little Man keeps the
headsets on his head… otherwise his ear drums would
get hurt)

Let’s go fly a kite…

It rained like crazy in the morning, but the
afternoon turned out pretty nice.

The storms left behind a windy day, perfect
for kite flying.

Lady Angler.

Little Man got invited over to a friend’s house.

Little Lady and I went fishing.

Didn’t catch anything but a big bowl of ice cream
when the casting was finished.

The kids started playing Killer Bunnies all by

The know the rules and have most of the cards

The game is supposed to be for ages 12 and up.
They are 7 and 5!

(whenever they win, which is often, I claim the
win is invalid because they are not 12 yet)  🙂

I setup the laptops at the track in
preparation for the Brickyard 400.

Sorry I got behind in SnapOATS.

I got sucked into the Twilight series.  I read the first
book in a couple days.  (which is fast for me)

Julie said Stephanie Myers posted a new version
of the first book on her website.  This version is
from Edward’s perspective.

The author sent advanced copies of the first few
chapters to several friends.

One of her “friends” leaked it on the internet.
Stephanie was so upset that she stopped writing
the book.

She published the few chapters so that no one
else would profit off of it.

Little Man’s newest Lego set arrived.

It is ground forces on the Battle of Hoth, including the first ever
Taun-Taun figure.

Batman revealed his secret identity over dinner…

(he’s a sucker for blondes)

After dinner, we played wiffle ball.

Something clicked in Little Man’s head, and he
was smiting the ball!
